Danish Butter Cookies

Jacobsens Bakery has been baking Danish butter cookies since 1962. What started as a small import/export company in Hedensted, Denmark, has grown into a state-of-the-art manufacturing operation – yet our dedication to quality has never changed.
Today, our cookies reach homes on every continent, from the USA to Japan, Australia to Mexico.

What Makes Traditional Danish Butter Cookies Special?
The answer is simplicity. No complicated techniques, no long ingredient lists – only honest ingredients and recipes that have stood the test of time.
All-Natural Ingredients
Fresh butter, fine flour, sugar, and a handful of other natural ingredients. A good butter cookie does not need more than that – a philosophy we have always followed at Jacobsens Bakery. No preservatives, no artificial additives, just a clean, honest taste.
Recipes Unchanged Since 1962
When Mr. Sigurd Jacobsen founded the company in 1962, he created recipes worth keeping. Over the years, the world has changed, and we have expanded into new markets, but those original recipes remain exactly as they were.
Baked in Denmark
Not every cookie labeled "Danish style" is authentic. Many brands produce cookies inspired by the Danish tradition, but original Danish butter cookies are made in Denmark – not simply inspired by it. At Jacobsens Bakery, every cookie is baked at our facility in Hedensted.
When you see our name on a Danish cookies tin, you know exactly where it comes from and what goes into it.
The Famous Danish Cookies Tin
There is a reason these famous cookies come in metal tins. They look beautiful, but they serve a practical purpose too.
Protecting Freshness
Metal tins protect the cookies from moisture, air, and light. This keeps them fresh and crisp – whether they are shipped across the ocean or stored in your kitchen for weeks.
More Than Just Packaging
What began as practical packaging has become part of the ritual. Opening a Danish butter cookies tin is a moment of anticipation – the lid comes off, the aroma rises, and the golden cookies are ready to enjoy.
Many people remember this moment from childhood and now share it with their own families. And when the cookies are gone, the tin often finds a new purpose – storing homemade biscuits, sewing supplies, or other treasures.
A Gift That Travels Well
Tins of Danish butter cookies make a popular gift around the world. The sturdy metal packaging means they travel well without breaking, and they arrive looking as good as they taste.
Whether you are thanking a client, celebrating a holiday, or simply thinking of someone, a tin of traditional Danish butter cookies is always welcome.
